White Plains Hospital

Major Modernization and Addition

Faced with the need to provide efficient and cost-conscious healthcare services, this 100-year-old hospital elected to build a major addition. This award-winning project included an 85,000 square foot addition and 58,000 square foot alteration.

The Flanzer Pavilion, with its generous glazing at ground level, its stone exterior and landscaped pedestrian park at the corner, connects the hospital to the retail character of its neighborhood. The project’s positive impact led to the development of two organizations which strive to improve the surrounding community. The addition included: Emergency Room, Family Health Center, Physical Medicine, Cardiology Diagnostic, Service, Ambulatory Surgery, Inpatient Psychiatry, Medical/Surgical Pediatric Unit, and Cancer Study Center.
