The New Milford Public Library is a complex of three unique buildings from three different eras. The original portion of the library occupies an 8,500 square foot Richardsonian style structure (c.1897) of brick, sandstone and slate roofing with magnificent leaded glass windows and a commanding presence. The Library was expanded in 1977 and once again outgrew its premises. The Library and Town commissioned our team to design an addition and renovate the library with the objective to design a first-class library facility. The design provides 21,825 square feet of renovated or added space. There are appropriately separated spaces for young and old alike with designated spaces for children, young adults, and adults. Also included is a community meeting space for after-hours use by the general public. The newly renovated spaces encourage social interaction and bring the New Milford Library into the 21st century.
