Cullum Tower Façade

North Bergen Housing Authority Award-Winning Façade Replacement

The award-winning, $6.7 million multi-phased exterior retrofit of the Cullum Tower had three major goals: improving the building’s thermal performance, eliminating air and water infiltration and improving building aesthetics. All goals were met with minimal disturbance to residents, who continued to live in their homes during the remodel. Unique to the design are the 117,000 square feet of Alucobond aluminum composite panels in nine different colors and eight Alucobond Spectra Colors. The Alucobond Spectra Colors change their color as one moves around the building. These panels form a community “quilt” that reflects the diversity of the neighborhood.
